Date(s) - 03 May 2016 - 04 May 2016
The H2020 project BioExcel is supporting a workshop on addressing training needs for advanced simulations in biomolecular research.
The workshop will be hosted by the EMBL-European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI), in Hinxton, UK on 3-4 May 2016. The full programme and registration information are available through the link above. In brief, the workshop will start at 09:00 on Tuesday 3 May and end at 17:30 on Wednesday 4 May.
The purpose of the workshop is twofold; firstly, it will provide users and potential users of three important biomolecular modelling and simulation applications, GROMACS, HADDOCK and CPMD, with an opportunity to learn directly from the developers of these resources and find out about how BioExcel – Europe’s new centre of excellence for BioMolecular Research – will enable users to harness high-performance computing (HPC) to use these tools in a user-friendly environment that does not assume any prior experience of using HPC.
Secondly, the workshop will enable users of these applications to provide BioExcel with feedback on the competencies needed to fully exploit these services. ‘Surgeries’ will enable participants to have one-to-one discussions with the developers of these resources, so that together they can ease bottlenecks in their modelling and simulation workflows.
The workshop will be highly interactive and we would be delighted to hear from you if you would like to present a relevant use case; please add this to your registration on the form. Registration is free of charge; we ask you to pay only for your travel and accommodation, which we can book for you on the Wellcome Genome Campus provided that you request it on your registration form. If you are selected to present a use case, we will be able to reimburse your travel (economy/second class) and accommodation.
We hope to see you in Hinxton in May! Register here.
