The tranSMART Foundation Announces New Version of the tranSMART Open Source Data Sharing Platform for the Life Sciences Community
The tranSMART Foundation, a non-profit organization providing a global, open-source knowledge management platform for scientists to share their pre-competitive data, today announced the release of tranSMART version 1.1.
The Pistoia Alliance is pleased to announce the release of the HELM biomolecular representation standard software toolkit and editor under the permissive open source MIT licence.
Today we announced the winner of the Pistoia Alliance Sequence Squeeze Competition. James Bonfield, a member of the sequencing informatics team at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, has received the US$15,000 prize for developing the best new algorithm for compressing next-generation sequencing (NGS) data.
The conference, to be held just before the start of the Bio-IT World Conference and Expo, will showcase several Pistoia Alliance projects aiming to improve the management and analysis of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data.
Lowering Barriers to R&D Innovation
We are a global, not-for-profit alliance of life science companies, vendors, publishers, and academic groups that work together to lower barriers to innovation in R&D.
Our projects transform R&D innovation through pre-competitive collaboration. We bring together the key constituents to identify the root causes that lead to R&D inefficiencies. We develop best practices and technology pilots to overcome common obstacles.
Our members collaborate as equals on open projects that generate significant value for the worldwide life sciences community.
With the launch of our Interactive Project Portfolio Platform (IP3) we are embracing a new level of openness, access, and transparency around our idea-to-project process. The platform is open to the public to submit new ideas, comment and vote on proposed ideas, and monitor the progress of our projects.
The Pistoia Alliance, an organization dedicated to improving global life sciences R&D, has seen its membership increase with a number of new members including both large multinationals and start-ups.
Our 2016 US Conference is coming along nicely with 95% of the agenda confirmed and a healthy 60% of available tickets already taken. Tickets are still available via the waitlist. We have released an event app to allow you to explore the venue, the agenda, and much more!
