The Pistoia Alliance CoE for AI in Life Sciences and Health‘s second drug repurposing datathon is dedicated to finding a cure to Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). This is a rare (1,000 cases a year worldwide) and deadly form of cancer in children. Over the last 50 years, the understanding of DIPG as a heterogeneous group of tumors requiring a personalized medicine approach has vastly improved, but the cure is still elusive.
In partnership with the scientific publisher Elsevier, the Swiss DIPG Center of Expertise, Zurich (“DCEz”), the DIPG Research Institute, and the Anti-Cancer Fund, we aim to address three main challenges:
- Identify molecular subgroups of DIPG
- Identify suitable therapeutic targets in these subgroups (by analysis of driver mutations or gene expression profiles)
- Assess already known drugs against these targets using both known and predicted new drug/target interactions
Registration for the drug repurposing datathon is open! Please submit your information using this form for more details.
