Quantum computing is moving rapidly from theory to practical application — and the life sciences industry stands to be one of its greatest beneficiaries. This half-day event, hosted by the Pistoia Alliance and IBM, will bring together experts from across quantum technology, biopharma, and life sciences R&D to explore how quantum approaches are already reshaping research and innovation.

The morning will open with a welcome from Becky Upton, President of the Pistoia Alliance, followed by insights from IBM on their vision for quantum’s role in life sciences. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the IBM Quantum roadmap and its pathway to achieving quantum economic advantage, shared by Adam Hammond, IBM Quantum Business Leader, EMEA.

Building on these foundations, James McCafferty, CIO at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, will showcase real-world examples of quantum computing in action within life science R&D, while Gopal Karemore, IBM’s Global Quantum Lead in Healthcare and Life Sciences, will examine the intersection of commercial life sciences R&D and emerging quantum capabilities.

The morning will culminate in a dynamic panel discussion, facilitated by Catherine Maskell, bringing together speakers and invited experts to explore emerging opportunities and future directions for quantum in life sciences. Attendees will also have a unique opportunity to network over coffee and view IBM’s Quantum Computer onsite.

Register your interest and join us to hear from leaders driving quantum innovation, share insights with peers, and explore how quantum technologies are poised to transform the next decade of biopharma and life sciences research.
