Future Labs Evolution

Future Labs Evolution Community of Experts is a cross-industry collaborative team focused on increasing the impact of emerging technologies, automation and digitalization to provide a more (r)evolutionary research experience to scientists in the labs, improving efficiency, quality through standardization and, ultimately, accelerating decision making.

Why is this important?

There are still many opportunities to improve the modern lab. Over the years, lab staff have transitioned from recording data with pens and notebooks to utilizing cloud-based technologies and ELNs. But now, another wave of innovations is taking hold. With new technology comes additional challenges, integration, remote or virtual labs not to mention change management.

Our aim is to drive a pre-competitive approach to build the next-generation laboratory environment from a data standards, process, instrument, and knowledge sharing perspective.

How will the project do this?

We run regular knowledge-sharing webinars on defined Lab of the Future (LoTF) topics, enabling corporations to discuss their LoTF-based approaches and review possible partner opportunities. We provide a forum where ideas for pre-competitive projects and collaborations can be discussed and developed.
