This webinar brings together industry leaders to discuss: The current landscape of health data integration. Barriers—organizational […]
We are honoured to have won a 2025 Bio-IT Innovative Practices Award for our FAIR Maturity Matrix and an Honourable Mention for our In Vitro Pharmacology (IVP) project.
The Pistoia Alliance is hosting an in-person event at the Royal Society of Chemistry to address Persistent Challenges in Cheminformatics. Despite significant technological progress, key hurdles remain in data standardization, interoperability, and reusability particularly for complex molecules such as synthetically modified biologics and their conjugates (e.g. ADCs, biologics containing non-natural amino acids, and oligonucleotides), where […]
The Pistoia Alliance DataFAIRy Bioassay Pilot is a collaborative project aiming to make bioassay information available in a FAIR format to increase the efficiency of bench scientists engaged in experiment planning and enable research that currently requires tedious expert literature review.

The Pistoia Alliance has announced the results of a global survey in conjunction with CCC on the impact of AI and copyright legislation on pharma R&D.
Information exchange within and across organizations in the pharmaceutical industry is hampered by insufficient or ambiguous asset descriptions. These descriptions should ideally allow for validation, facilitation of discovery and promotion of interoperability. All of these have the potential to deliver significant gains for data exploitation and value delivery in the drug development pipeline, ultimately bringing […]
A well-defined ontology that bridges between regional and functional perspectives on common substance-related data objects and global and scientifically objective representations is required. The goal of our project is to build an IDMP Ontology that enables deep, semantic interoperability based on FAIR principles to enhance and augment the existing ISO IDMP standards
The current ontologies available to support annotation of experiments and assays (BAO,AFO) don't suffice yet to enable experiment data interoperability and their reusability.
Organisations are increasingly working to standardised ontologies and terminologies to increase the interoperability of data as part of their FAIR data strategy.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) models have been shown to have impressive capabilities in the medical image analysis domain with potential to assist clinicians in their everyday tasks, from the diagnosis to disease monitorisation and surgical planning procedure, thereby enhancing patient care.
The problem to be solved is the lack of an ontology and/or standard vocabularies in instruments and equipment inventories, which makes the categorizing and querying of these systems difficult.
