ChEMBL 20 incorporates the Hierarchical Editing Language for Macromolecules (HELM), the macromolecular representation standard recently released by the Pistoia Alliance.
Controlled Substance Compliance Services (CSCS), a project managed by the Pistoia Alliance, which helps companies check the legal requirements around using controlled substances in pharmaceutical research, is set to expand to China.
The Pistoia Alliance’s new members include large global companies, startups, and academic organizations, including Amgen, Lundbeck, Dotmatics Limited, quattroresearch GmbH, Patcore Inc., Hewlett-Packard Company, the University of Reading, Cambridgene, and QFAB.
The Pistoia Alliance Debates series will continue on Tuesday January 20th with a webinar entitled “Ontologies as the glue for knowledge management: use cases and challenges.”
Lowering Barriers to R&D Innovation
We are a global, not-for-profit alliance of life science companies, vendors, publishers, and academic groups that work together to lower barriers to innovation in R&D.
Our projects transform R&D innovation through pre-competitive collaboration. We bring together the key constituents to identify the root causes that lead to R&D inefficiencies. We develop best practices and technology pilots to overcome common obstacles.
Our members collaborate as equals on open projects that generate significant value for the worldwide life sciences community.
With the launch of our Interactive Project Portfolio Platform (IP3) we are embracing a new level of openness, access, and transparency around our idea-to-project process. The platform is open to the public to submit new ideas, comment and vote on proposed ideas, and monitor the progress of our projects.
The September 2016 edition of the Pistoia Alliance newsletter, Innovation in Action, is available to download as a PDF document.
Healthcare is officially joining the big data club. With the advent of high-throughput genomics, life scientists are starting to grapple with massive data sets, encountering challenges with handling, processing and moving information that were once the domain of astronomers and physicists.
